Your purpose at Kertos
As our Finance Manager, you'll be the operational backbone of our Finance team. Working directly with our Head of Finance, you'll own the day-to-day finance operations, coordinate with our external accountants, and take on strategic projects that help us scale. This is a hands-on role with real ownership – and a clear growth path toward FP&A and Finance Business Partnering as we grow.
- Own the monthly accounting close process and be the main contact for our external accountants and tax advisors
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Track and reconcile financial actuals, working closely with our interns and working students
- Continuously improve our finance operations using AI tools to automate manual processes and help us scale
- Drive finance projects end-to-end (e.g. billing system implementation, revenue recognition setup, cost center structuring)
- Track and report on key SaaS metrics (ARR, Churn, Gross Margin) and support budget planning and forecasting
- Prepare investor reports, board materials, and ad-hoc analyses for the Head of Finance
The skills, motivation, and mentality you should bring
- 2–3 years of experience in Finance, ideally at a SaaS or tech startup
- Experience working with German accounting standards (HGB). Experience in working and coordinating with external accountants or tax advisors is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with finance tools like DATEV, subscription billing, or expense management
- Excited about using AI to automate and improve how finance works
- Strong project management skills – willingness to take ownership and drive things to completion
- Fluent in German (written and spoken), Conversational in English
- Based in Berlin or Munich
