Your purpose at Kertos
Finance at a fast-scaling SaaS company isn't a back-office function, it's infrastructure. As our Finance Manager, you are the operational backbone of the Finance team: owning the month-end close, keeping our external accountants sharp, and running the finance processes that let Kertos move fast without losing control. You work directly with our Head of Finance, and you'll take on strategic projects like billing systems, revenue recognition, cost structures, that directly shape how we scale. This role has real ownership from day one, and a clear path toward FP&A and Finance Business Partnering as the team grows.
Your Responsibilities
- Own the monthly accounting close process and act as the primary contact for our external accountants and tax advisors
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clean documentation
- Track and reconcile financial actuals, coordinating day-to-day with our finance interns and working students
- Drive finance projects end-to-end: billing system implementations, revenue recognition setup, cost centre structuring, from scoping to delivery
- Track and report on core SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, gross margin) and actively support budget planning and forecasting cycles
- Prepare investor reports, board materials, and ad-hoc analyses for the Head of Finance
- Continuously identify and eliminate manual processes using AI tooling and automation, building a finance function that scales
The skills, motivation, and mentality you should bring
- 2–3 years of experience in Finance, ideally at a SaaS company or tech startup where you operated in a lean team with real ownership
- Solid working knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB): you understand the rules and know when to apply them
- Experience coordinating with external accountants or tax advisors; you know how to manage that relationship without losing control of quality
- Hands-on with finance tooling such as DATEV, subscription billing platforms, or expense management tools
- Genuinely excited about using AI to improve how finance operates, not just open to it, but actively looking for opportunities
- Strong project management instincts: you take things from brief to done without needing to be chased
- Business Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken).
- Based in Munich or Berlin, or willing to relocate
You thrive in a fast-moving environment and take ownership from day one.
